How to go on your own, and what it costs
Vestamager: Metro to Vestamager, walk into Kalvebod Fælled — open 24 h, free. Ulvshale (Møn) and Mols Bjerge: state forest and national park paths open at night; private forests close at sunset. Stay on paths.
Cost: Free.
Field-recording notes
Vestamager is open at night and remarkably wild for a capital — but Kastrup's runways are 3 km away (night flights are restricted but not banned), and the Øresund motorway hums; 01:00–04:00 is the cleanest. Møn and Mols are near-silent at night. Nightingale territories are in dense scrub off the paths: do not push in (breeding birds, and Danish access law keeps you on paths in private forest at night — public forests are open 24 h, private only 06:00 to sunset). The thrush nightingale's low frequency content sits right in the traffic band — use the airport curfew.
