Cost: Free.
Field-recording notes
The delta sits under the Locarno airfield (light aircraft and helicopters, daytime) and next to the A13 and the Bellinzona–Locarno railway — the pre-dawn window from 04:30 is the only clean one, and it's good. Reserve rules: trails only, no entry to the delta islands, no boats in the buffer. Ticino spring has föhn-free humid mornings that carry sound across the reed. Tree frogs (Hyla intermedia) chorus in the ditches in May.
