Our third overland quest.
First, we spread our wings. Then we focused on sounds. Now, we're making music.

On this expedition from Nigeria to South Africa, we seek to understand how migratory birds inspire local birds and the music of neighbouring cultures.

Because we wonder: How do people living along these routes interpret the changing dialects of birdsong in music, folklore, and cultural memory as they journey through?

The Expedition.
Transforming everything we've learned about immersive sound into live, collaborative music.
We will work with local musicians, elders, and communities to create original music inspired by migratory birdsong and folklore, blending traditional sounds, contemporary rhythms, and live bird songs.
Each piece will be performed first for the community in which it was created to revitalise connections between migratory birds and their human counterparts. ​
The Route

October 2025 - March 2026. Starting from Nigeria, where Daphne is (Toyota Hilux), going south destination South Africa (FINALLY!)
The Plan
Each month the team will:

Spend three weeks immersed in local wildlife capturing sounds in Immersive Audio, filming wildlife and our story

Record local stories and music, collaborating with musicians.

Set up the Sounding Wild Immersive Audio Experience for a week, bringing the musical story to life, and having fun with local communities.​
What music will we make?
We will bring our electronic, groove-based vibes and infuse them with the
local music, creating musical journeys triggered by the sound of local birds and migratory birds.
It's a journey of creative discovery, what we will create exactly we don't even know, but respect and dancing are the foundation of our work.
