Axel Drioli
Director, Spatial Audio Designer and Producer, Soundscape Ecologist, Conservationist, Entepreneur, Producer, Researcher, Founder of Sounding Wild.
Axel is a Director, Producer, Wildlife Sound Recordist and Spatial Audio designer, founder of Sounding Wild and Spatial Audio Labs.
His main interest is wildlife sound and conservation, and how to create compelling experiences to bring awareness about the natural world. Axel has been researching and exploring the concepts of Soundscape Ecology, Ecoacoustics and Bioacoustic, creating immersive stories combining his innovative audio-approaches and passion for nature and animal behaviour.
His directed piece ‘Life On The Edge VR’ #LOTE, a multi-delivery platform immersive experience about ex-poachers, rangers and the wildlife from the Cambodian rainforest is part of the official 2020 EarthXR selection, Wildlife Conservation Film Festival, San Pedro Film Festival and it has been finalist of the Virtual Noise competition at SXSW 2020.
His recent work includes ‘My Garden of a Thousand Bees’ by director Martin Dohrn and Passion Pictures, ‘Auditorial’, a binaural audio experience about soundscape ecologist pioneer Bernie Krause by Google x The Guardian, a BBC Springwatch 2020 episode, ‘A Predicament of Pangolins’, ‘Big 5’, ‘Into The Himalayas’ finalist at #JacksonWild 2020, ‘Gorillapalooza’ 360 Video experiences produced by Habitat XR ,the latter for The Ellen Fund ,by Ellen DeGeneres , the last two available on the main VR platforms to watch.
His work has also been shown at Future of Storytelling Summit (NY, USA), Seattle Film Festival, Sheffield Doc Fest, United Nations HQ (Bonn, Germany), Unicef, Downing Street, Sky Ocean Rescue and more global platforms.
Ario Drioli
Wildlife Photographer, Graphic Designer, Nature Enthusiast.
Ario is Earth Echo's photographer and will be joining Axel on an excursion to capture nature's story to share with the world.
Ario has 7+ years working as brand designer, graphic designer, photographer and project manager in multiple creative industries such as advertisement, fashion, music, product photography and interior photography around the UK and Italy. He’s been recently working on a 2+ years project with XR HUB London, and closely collaborating with art director Phan Tu on multiple brand design and graphic design projects.
A recent call to explore nature made him choose his next step in life, going into a 2+ years exploration journey through two continents with the Sounding Wild Exploration project, capturing the natural world from his perspective, combining his photography and graphic design skills into storytelling and educational content.
